So then, about Strictly hey-wake...

  I began getting HW furniture in nineteen eighty-six when I bought a Sculptura bedroom suite - and naturally wanted more.

  Strictly hey-wake began as a one man venture. This site was first published December 31, 1998 to help clear out some of the overflow that'd been accumulating as well as for the purpose of locating other pieces.

The refinishing came about because I couldn't find others to do it.  Since I worked as a Maryland home improvement contractor (Parody Home Improvement - MHIC license #41002) by trade for several years, I had my own shop and some experience refinishing wood,  the restoration aspect of this undertaking was somewhat enticing, but more than anything.....very necessary.

Some time back in 2002 perhaps, this enterprise became a full time endeavor (although I didn't let my contractors license expire until 2005). This sure beats doing home improvement.

Shipping

It's up to the buyer to contact a shipper for shipping quotes and all other shipping questions before, during and after shipment. The shipper will need information from the buyer that I cannot supply, therefore it will be more expedient  for the buyer to work these details out with the shipper. Unless you have a copy of the green "Heywood Wakefield" book I can provide the dimensions of  the merchandise they will need for a quote.

 Nightstands, twin and full beds, and most living room tables can be packed and sent out by Strictly hey-wake via  Fed-x.

If your merchandise is sent Fed-x and there is damage, take pictures of the box if there's evidence of rough handling and of the damaged piece as soon as you notice the damage, even before it's totally unpacked. I will need those pics for evidence to send to Fed-x. 

 If your merchandise was blanket wrapped/shipped, have the delivery person make a note on the invoice of damage if there is any. As far as I'm aware, there has never been any damage to pieces shipped this way. Any damage claims must be settled with the shipper.  You should inspect packaging/crating or the piece if it is blanket wrapped upon delivery before the driver leaves and call the shipper immediately. Keep all evidence intact until inspection. Take pictures of any damage.

Hold

A fifty percent deposit is required to place merchandise in layaway. Thirty days is allowed for final payment for purchases. Items must be picked up within one week after final payment, unless being shipped.

 Orders

For ordering a piece in my inventory to be refinished, fifty percent down is required and will become non-refundable after work has begun.   Twenty percent will be kept until then if order is cancelled.

Custom Pieces Orders

Payment in full is required before work is scheduled on any custom stuff.
